To overcome these problems, the Gujarat State Government has launched Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana on September 4, 2012. In August 2014, it was extended to Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya Yojana.
Who Can Apply for Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana, Gujarat?
The objectives of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana are to provide financial protection and security and access to quality surgical health care to the BPL households. This involves hospitalisation, surgeries and therapies for the treatment of identified diseases.
Talking about Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana eligibility criteria
This scheme is for BPL families and for families with a low annual income of Rs. 4,00,000
Senior citizens from families with an annual income of INR 6 lac
Having a U-Win card is compulsory
ASHA reporters and fixed pay employees

What Is the Income Limit of an Amrutam Card?
The income limit for obtaining an Amrutam card is based on socio- economic categories defined by the Government. Initially, the scheme targets the BPL families but now it also covers the middle- class families with low annual income.
Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana amount that is provided to the eligible families is Rs. 3 lakh annually. For Kidney Transplant, Liver Transplant and Pancreas Transplant procedures, the benefit amount is up to Rs 5 lakhs. ASHA workers are given Rs. 100 for each BPL family. The State Government transfers the benefit amount through RTGS.

Family Floater scheme: This Yojana covers five members of the family including the children
State Funded: The beneficiaries under this scheme do not have to pay any enrollment amount/ premium to avail the benefits as it’s entirely Government funded scheme
Easy Transactions: The District and Speciality hospitals and Medical Infrastructure from PHC, CHC can effectively provide free treatment
Empanelment of Government/ Private Hospitals: Both Government and Private hospitals come under the plan
Death Allowance: Transportation allowance of INR 6/- per kilometre in case of the death of the insured
Cost of Travel: The beneficiary gets INR 300 on treatment from the network hospital
Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya card validity: Before 2015, its validity was set to 1 year but after that, it was changed to 3 years. Its renewal is simple and can be done after calling customer care or visiting the appointed kiosk
